Venice Takeaway – British Council

The British Council created the exhibition Venice Takeaway, which was first shown at the 13th Venice Architecture Biennale. This exhibition presents the work of 10 architectural teams that have travelled the world in search of imaginative responses to universal issues. It charts their course in Argentina, Brazil, China, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Russia, Thailand and the USA and demonstrates the creative potential of sharing ideas across borders.

Our design partner, Sho-Design, approached us about building the British Council a WordPress site for Venice Takeaway. The developer who had originally won the job had let its client down and the site needed to be live in just eight days. totalsurf rose to the challenge and, after a week of early starts and late nights, launched the site on deadline.

Director of Architecture, Design & Fashion Vicky Richardson was impressed with our dedication. “The site has become a fantastic platform for the project. We are incredibly grateful to you for stepping in at short notice and rescuing us!”
