BioPharmaSpec have been a client for well over a year, initially just relying on us for SEO. Their website was good and proved to be no issue for us to work with and optimise everything in. We were able to achieve fantastic rankings for them in Google, and still do. The client itself is within a very niche industry, and by extension, the keywords and search terms have an incredibly low search volume. But the people that are searching for the very scientific services and types of biopharmaceutical testing are actively looking to purchase directly, and although it’s niche, there is high competition.
As a result, BioPharmaSpec were (and still are) playing amongst and beating their competitors in the rankings. As far as our SEO work is concerned, we optimise the client’s website performance in the UK, US, and India. They have multiple locations and, therefore, cater to various national and international markets.
Our SEO work was paying dividends for BioPharmaSpec. First-hand, they have seen how we have increased their rankings and organic traffic, seeing a stratospheric increase month-on-month. The only issue they were having, despite this increase, was that people just weren’t converting. People were finding their site and visiting it, but the website just wasn’t engaging people. To be honest, it didn’t do BioPharmaSpec justice, because despite them being incredibly good at what they do, the site didn’t show them in their best light. It could be significantly improved from a design and engagement perspective.
They asked what can be done to help their site engage with their audience more, so we suggested a website redesign and rebuild.
This would involve identifying their competitors’ websites, what elements worked for them and what people would be inclined to click. We then followed our structured design process, beginning by building some carefully-constructed wireframes, which, in turn, went through multiple stages of design that highlighted different rows, columns, pods, CTAs and so on.
We then specced out the functionality that the site needed, based on these wireframes. In other words, what could go where on the site pages. We subsequently married those together to produce an initial set of designs, where each of them went through iterations of changes during discussions with the client. We regularly consulted with the client on these changes, eventually building the new pages following the designs being signed off.
BioPharmaSpec are incredibly happy with the new website pages and the work we have done to ensure they still reflect their brand, but engage with their audience more. The feedback they’ve had from within the scientific community has been positive, which is great to hear!
As far as their content goes, it’s exceptionally scientific, research-focused and data-heavy. We don’t produce the client’s content, but we work in tandem with them and their content writers, guiding and advising them on ways to optimise their blogs, research, case studies and whitepapers. Our keyword toolkit and content strategy give them tangible things to aim for, and it’s ultimately having a positive effect on their rankings. It’s helpful for the client to know the types of keywords they should be threading into their content and learning how to write good titles, headings, meta descriptions, and so on.
BioPharmaSpec are a fantastic client to work with; they’re incredibly receptive and understanding. We’ve recently taken on the responsibility of handling WordPress updates, ongoing security, patching, maintenance and support as well. It’s fair to say that we treat this site with as much care and attention as the client does with biosimilar testing!
