EUROCOM CI WEB, SEO & CONTENT

Digity, one of our incredible trusted referral partners, introduced us to Eurocom CI, the parent company of Online DBS Checks.

Initially, Online DBS Checks came on board for SEO (which you can read more about here), and Eurocom CI wanted to achieve much of the same results.

The client had recognised tremendous opportunities within the market to grow the Eurocom CI name, and decided to focus their marketing efforts on their website. It made sense as any direct conversions they achieve through Online DBS Checks are all pushed through Eurocom CI, as the parent company. Essentially, Online DBS Checks is the online portal for administering bulk DBS checks, and goes through Eurocom CI. Eurocom CI also does far more than just DBS certificates; they do almost any background check under the sun, which encompasses a far greater range of keywords and ranking opportunities.

The client decided to push this side of the business, having recognised opportunities in the market. In 2020, they had booked to go to a trade show. While Digity handled the website design, we were called upon to develop, code and build the website. The trade show was quickly nearing by the time we were approached for web development, and this gave us a tight deadline of two weeks.

Well, actually, by the time the copy was written for all of the Eurocom CI website pages – the credit of which goes to Digity for doing an excellent job of utilising our keyword research and suggestions – this gave us ONE week to develop the site. Of course, while the deadline was tight and the project was relatively large, the totalsurf team worked diligently to get the site live in time for Eurocom CI’s trade show appearance. It launched on the day they were booked to appear, which made the car journey all the more exciting, we are sure! There’s nothing quite like receiving news of your new website going live, as you’re about to turn onto the M6 toll (or so we have been told!)

Since then, the client has had nothing but positive feedback, which is gratifying for all involved. The client also recognised the value that our SEO, content strategy and copywriting had given to their other business and came onboard as a separate SEO client. We’re also pleased to be writing blogs for this client as well.

As expected, COVID-19 caused its fair share of problems for the client, so they needed to be smart and were cautious about outgoings. In an ideal world, both the client and ourselves would have liked to start the SEO process midway through 2020, but it ended up beginning in the autumn. We adjusted the content strategy accordingly, to make sure the client got the most out of supporting content like blogs.

Right off the bat, their rankings started to improve, largely due to an increased amount of blogs for the first three months of their SEO contract. Between October and December, we wrote four blogs per month, before eventually reducing that down to two per month. This increased content production, helped their rankings massively, and the fact that their site is still receiving a regular stream of well-written content is only helping matters more.

Eurocom CI are a client that had never done any SEO on their own site, but they had seen the positive effects it had on Online DBS Checks. There wasn’t any historical data or evidence to compare our efforts against. But that in itself is a compliment because they are ranking for a large amount of their chosen tracked keywords, and these rankings have come from virtually nowhere. What’s more, their Google Search Console shows them getting swathes of traffic and visibility.

To say that their organic traffic and rankings have skyrocketed is putting it bluntly.

Since then, we have also recently taken over the website hosting responsibilities. We’re also monitoring the website for regular WordPress updates, security, maintenance, patching and so on, to ensure that the website remains operational, up-to-date and doesn’t break.

We’re very proud of the work we have done for this client, as they’re an example of one who recognised our solution was so good, they bought it twice. It’s always a trickier sell to pitch to an existing client, rather than a new one. In a way, some agencies prefer pitching to new ones because they haven’t got to defend themselves. Nor do we, because the evidence is there, and this client is an EXISTING one.

It’s like that saying, “work twice as hard to keep a customer as you do to find a new one.”
