The team at totalsurf are fortunate that they can still carry out business as usual, from the confines of their own homes. COVID-19 has meant that large communities of people are staying at home to work, and luckily, for us as SEO experts, web developers and copywriters, how we work hasn’t been impacted as harshly as other businesses.
We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to be able to work as normal. But one thing that is missing amidst this whole pandemic is the absence of face-to-face interactions, meetings, networking and just the camaraderie of being in an office together.
Not just that, but COVID-19 has slammed the brakes on things we, as a business, enjoy together outside the office. Restaurants, bars and the majority of other places we regularly visit as a team, and have a good time at, have been forced to close in the interests of protection and safety. While this is absolutely the right decision, we can’t help but miss going out for a team lunch once in a while. We’re only human!
So we thought, why not have a ‘remote’ team lunch? Why not just take an hour out of the day to talk about things other than code, APIs, keyword research and blog plans?
So here we all are, keeping the culture of totalsurf alive and kicking, with us all enjoying some much-needed pizza!
If you’re wondering why Dan looks like the odd one out, holding a Papa John’s box while Chris, Tom and Charlie have Domino’s boxes, it’s because Dan can’t eat anything from Domino’s due to them using dairy in all their bases.

Lockdown shouldn’t force your business to ignore important things like teamwork. If you can continue business during this pandemic, that’s fantastic to hear! For us here at totalsurf, we’re not only able to do that, but since lockdown, we’ve actually found ourselves with several pieces of new business.
Without our valuable team working as hard as we are throughout this tumultuous time, it’s difficult to picture where we would be.
Moral of the story: if you’re working hard, treat yourself to pizza. Pizza always helps!
