As discussed in some of our previous blogs, just like the rest of the UK, the totalsurf team haven’t had much opportunity to see each other in person since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, as the social distancing rules have begun to ease, we’ve been able to get back into the office and decided to celebrate with a work trip to Go Ape
In the last two years we’ve all been through a lot, and as a company we have spent that time helping our clients climb the Google rankings for their keywords, as well as moving into a new office and welcoming new members of the team. For so many reasons, this trip to Bracknell to swing through the trees was a much-needed treat, and the scorchingly hot weather just added to the good times!
Some of you may have seen the hilarious footage from our last trip to Go Ape back in June 2019 – anyone who’s seen the YouTube video won’t forget the many failed zipline landings! We decided to challenge ourselves with another visit, and thankfully the team proved that they’d landed from previous experience as a lot more of us landed on our feet this time! (Not all of us though…the entertaining zipline landing fails were still there to enjoy!)
We climbed up trees, walked across precarious platforms and obstacles, and even took on the massive Tarzan Swing – jumping off the platforms and swinging through the air to land in the net. As you can imagine, there were a few nerves, but we managed to push through them and all felt pretty heroic once our feet were back on solid ground. Thanks go out to the team at Go Ape Bracknell, who really made this a great team day out, and a great way to get some more adrenaline into the team for the second half of the year!
We’ve included some evidence in this blog of our adventurous day out to celebrate both the wins and the entertaining fails. Even when one of us wasn’t able to stick the landing, we brushed ourselves off and tried again, which is a mindset that we should all try and take into any aspect of life, whether that’s for work or when zooming down a 160m long zipline!
It’s a good job that we’re a team of SEO and copywriting experts, because we weren’t exactly embracing our inner Tarzans out there, but the main goal was to build some team morale and let off some steam – so in that case, mission accomplished!
